Welcome to Shinfield Players Theatre
Shinfield Players Theatre and Arts Centre web site extends to you the same warm welcome that you will receive when you visit our theatre. The theatre, owned by its members, boasts an impressive list of facilities for its audiences, including a Licensed Bar, Foyer with Coffee Stop, and an Auditorium which can seat 156 in comfortable theatre seating. Disabled facilities include level access, toilets and removable auditorium seating if required. All in all there is something for everyone in our season's programme. Don't forget we stage a new production every five weeks or so, so take a look at what's on offer in our shows section.

Our Country's Good

This play chronicles the journey of the first british convicts transported to the furthest place known to man in 1787: Australia. In an effort to raise flagging morale and create a more humane society in the makeshift penal colony, the govenor decides to put on a play... using the convicts as actors! The unusual and enlightening undertaking results in the unexpected transformation of prisoners and jailers alike.

This show follows two lads on their way to watch a football match that turned out to be one of the most memorable days in football history, the Hillborough Disaster.
